The challenge

Explaining engine operation requires a model that shows how individual components assemble and move together.

Contribution

A complete educational V6 engine assembly was developed in SolidWorks, including the block, crankshaft, pistons, camshaft, valve train and manifolds.

Approach

Lower and upper assemblies were connected through shafts and belt wheels. Motion analysis and animation demonstrated timing and coordination between the valves and pistons.

Results

The completed model provides a visual teaching tool for engine assembly, mechanical relationships and synchronized motion.
